With a 5am call time for a 5:30 departure to the airport, we had a relatively smooth transit from Lakeview Baptist Church to the Atlanta Airport to begin our trek. Bag drop and getting through airport security was surprisingly painless and quick. Unlike our 2019 trip, our actual flights and layovers went as planned, landing at Boston-Logan on time. After retrieving our three rental vehicles, we loaded up and headed north. Since all our travel went as planned, we were able to make our first stop of the trip at the Portland Head Light lighthouse at Fort Williams Park in Cape Elizabeth, Maine. Upon arrival at the park, we discovered that an "end of the school year" celebration was that night at dusk that included fireworks show, so we grabbed some pizzas from Otto Pizza (local chain) and had dinner in the park adjacent to the lighthouse and watched what ended up being a fantastic fireworks show. After the conclusion of the show, we made the final 45 minute or so drive to the predetermined hotel in Brunswick, Maine; as Dr. Hung made his initial arrival at Lamoine State Park in Maine.

On Sunday morning, June 14th, 18 scouts and 5 adults departed for the north Georgia mountains to spend a week at summer camp at Camp Rainey Mountain. CRM is the Northeast Georgia Council's summer camp located just outside the town of Clayton, Georgia.
Of the 18 scouts, most decided to fill their schedules with merit badge classes, but a few took part of the First Year Camper program, aptly named "The New Trail". One scout, Brandon, chose to participate in the "Gold Rush" program for older scouts. Considering the friends he made, we think he had an enjoyable week.
Taking advantage of the Memorial Day weekend, a group of 7 scouts and 6 adults headed north to Tennessee to visit and camp at Shiloh Military Park for 5 nights. We departed from the church early on Friday morning, stopping in Tupelo, Miss, for lunch en route to the campground to set up our home for the week.
